Banfora: Women from the Cascades region have chosen the town of Banfora for the regional celebration of the 167th International Women’s Day. This celebration was intended to be sober through a health activity at the women’s house. This activity saw a strong mobilization of women with the presence of the regional authorities.
According to the regional director in charge of humanitarian action, W. Bernadette MR YAMEOGO/BELEM, the activities organized in the Cascades region include, among others, the cleaning of the woman’s house and training on the processing of local products at benefit of women. She also invited women to always occupy this place as fighting women and that they participate more in endogenous development projects and a resilient economic sector.
‘All these activities organized by women are a way for us to show that we are resilient and that we support the efforts of the Government of our country,’ she said.
The Governor of the Cascades region, Florent Badabouè BAZIE, invited the population t
o solidarity actions for the benefit of internally displaced people and patriotic support for the fight against terrorism. He also paid a vibrant tribute to the women of the Cascades, for their resilience in the face of unfortunate events that affect human existence.
The first official of the region took the opportunity to salute the memory of the fighters who fell on the battlefields for the homeland.
‘To all those who risk their lives on a daily basis to defend our living together in this war, I reiterate my encouragement and my deep respect,’ he added.
He also expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured and his solidarity with the members of the affected families.
