Centre-nord/RAMADAN 2023: Muslim faithful invited to perform night prayers at home

In a statement signed on April 10, 2023, the president of the Federation of Islamic Associations Burkina Faso (FAIB) of the Centre-North, informs the Muslim faithful of the suspension of night prayers (kiyâmil layl) throughout the regional territory.

Noting the curfew in force, El Hadj Abdoul-Samad Ouédraogo recommends to all the Muslim faithful of the Center-North, to observe the said prayers at home, in the hope of having the graces of the last decade of the month. blessed with Ramadan.

While wishing a good continuation of Ramadan to the Muslim faithful, the president of the FAIB/Centre-Nord expresses the wish of peace on Burkina Faso.

"The qiyaamoul layl prayers or night prayers take place from the 20th day of Ramadan. These prayers begin at 00h and end around 3h in the morning", explained to the AIB, Issouf Tiendrebeogo, main Imam of CERFI Kaya.

“As there is the curfew which takes this time interval into account, it might be risky to organize the said prayers,” he justifies.

He specifies that these prayers begin on the night of Tuesday April 11 to Wednesday April 12, 2023.

“The faithful will be obliged to make these prayers at home. Which is not easy, but the (security) situation obliges,” advises Imam Issouf Tiendrebeogo.
