- Decree No. 590/2023 on the delimitation of electoral constituencies has been published on Friday in the Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic (JORT).
This decree sets out the number of local councils at 279, number of constituencies at 2155 and the number of constituencies with less than 5 delegations at 131.
The decree further stipulates that one seat in each council is reserved for a person with a disability.
The number of district councils stands at 5 and the overall number of regional constituencies for the election of district councils stands at 24, the decree reads.
The number of seats on the National Council of Regions and Districts is set at 77, while the overall number of constituencies for the election of this council is around 29.
