Ouagadougou: During his stay in the Center-East region, on March 7 and 8, 2024, the President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE went to congratulate and encourage the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) at the Tenkodogo garrison and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) who contribute to the fight against terrorism.'We have a lot of victories. We are currently on the offensive. But there are situations that taint war; and I wanted to see certain positions to inquire about your defense situation,' indicated the Head of State to the region's fighting forces.The Supreme Chief of the national armed forces, while encouraging these fighting forces, recalled the need to defend the homeland to the point of supreme sacrifice. In localities formerly under terrorist influence, 'thanks to you, life has resumed. People work and it's a source of pride,' said Captain Ibrahim TRAORE.However, he clarified, 'the war is not yet over'; we must therefore not let our guard down. Instead, we must be more vigilant.The President of the Transition invited the VDP, their instructors and all the fighting forces in the region to strengthen their protection, self-defense and defense techniques and strategies.To do this, initiatives and sharing of experiences within different groups remain essential for effective action. The Head of State insisted that the fighting forces get rid of laziness and that each element plays its part. 'So, fortify and fight (…) It is for the people that you are here,' he recalled.The President of the Transition said he was aware of the various difficulties and concerns of the different fighting forces and then promised to provide adequate and diligent solutions.Source: Burkina Information Agency
