Diapaga/Terrorism: Populations call on the State to intervene quickly

The populations of Diapaga, in the province of Tapoa, called this Thursday on the Burkinabè authorities to quickly free their locality from terrorists and to urgently transport food, noted a journalist from the AIB on site. On the morning of April 18, 2024, the populations of Diapaga, responding to the call from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), demonstrated in the streets to ask the State to act before it was too late . Having left the Untaani high school in Diapaga, the demonstrators converged towards the central roundabout for a meeting during which the difficult security and food situation was highlighted. They then requested the urgent dispatch of a humanitarian convoy. On the security front, the populations demanded large-scale operations to free the municipalities from terrorist abuses. They also requested the departure of the detachment commander and the replacement of administrative authorities as well as public officials who left the locality.
