Diaspora: Hanihani Moundiba Traoré promises to put his experience at the service of the Association of Burkinabè living in Nebraska (USA)

Ouagadougou: Hanihani Moundiba Traoré was elected on April 14, 2024 as head of the Association of Burkinabè living in Nebraska (ABN) in the United States of America. The new president promised to use all his experience alongside the new office of 17 members to achieve the association's objectives. At the end of the votes, the community chose Hanihani Moundiba Traoré for a two-year term. She therefore replaces John Ouédraogo who spent two years at the head of the association of Burkinabè living in Nebraska (ABN). 'Ms. Hanihani Moundiba Traoré was until now vice-president of the NBA, so she will ensure continuity while bringing a personal touch to the life of the association,' declared John Ouédraogo, outgoing president of the NBA. The new office of the association of Burkinabè living in Nebraska has a two-year mandate and is made up of 17 members. At the end of these general elections, John Ouédraogo asked all Burkinabè living in Nebraska to support the new office. According to the outgoing president, the success of the new office is 'yours and the whole community wins. Hand in hand, we will build a strong community, maintain the achievements and be prosperous and fulfilled,' he told his compatriots present in the ACN room. 'Being vice-president of the old office, I know that there are objectives that we were not able to achieve. But from the height of my experience, I will do everything possible to ensure that we can achieve them during this new mandate,' declares Hanihani Moundiba Traoré, president of the new office. The association of Burkinabè living in Nebraska carries out social, educational and integration actions in favor of Burkinabè living in the United States of America, especially for those living in Nebraska. She also organizes donation collections for the benefit of vulnerable people in Burkina. In 2023, the NBA offered food, clothes, toys, utility and health equipment to internally displaced people in Burkina Faso through two collection operations. All of these donations are estimated at 2 m illion 200 thousand CFA francs according to the balance sheet of the outgoing office.
