Drug smuggling network dismantled in Tataouine

The national guard units in Remada (governorate of Tataouine) dismantled a network specialising in the smuggling of medicines and arrested 4 individuals, in possession of 11,316 tablets and 1,485 syringes and various medicines.

Following information about a network specialising in the smuggling of medicines to a neighbouring country, National Guard units raided a warehouse during which 4 individuals were arrested and the medicines seized, said a statement issued on Thursday by the National Guard.

After consultation, the Public Prosecutor's Office ordered that legal action be taken for "forming a conspiracy to possess, conceal and store medicines with the intention of speculating and marketing them outside the country", and that all those involved be taken into custody.
