Father Ferdinand Gnoumou Encourages Acts of Solidarity During Easter Celebrations

Mouhoun: The Sainte Anne Cathedral of D©dougou was filled with joy and hope on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, as Father Ferdinand Gnoumou led the mass. He called upon Christians to fully live their faith and engage in actions of solidarity and peace.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Boucle du Mouhoun region's authorities, including the governor, joined the celebration of Christ's resurrection at the Sainte Anne de D©dougou parish. The congregation prayed for peace in Burkina Faso and the unity and coexistence of its people.

Father Gnoumou highlighted that Easter is the most significant Christian feast, celebrating the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He urged attendees to embrace their faith and partake in acts of solidarity. The Easter festivities extended beyond the mass, emphasizing the renewal and hope that the season brings.

Father Gnoumou reminded the faithful that following the path of the Risen Christ allows them to live in peace and love without fear. During the celebration, 202 individuals were baptized, 312 confirmed, and 107 received their first communion. Additionally, two life promises were made, signifying a deep spiritual commitment within the community.

Governor Babo Pierre Bassinga encouraged continued prayers for peace in Burkina Faso and expressed gratitude for the community's support of national authorities. He emphasized the importance of unity and resilience for the nation's prosperity.

The governor expressed solidarity with the Catholic community, acknowledging their shared journey in faith and gratitude for their prayers.
