Fennecs/Etalons: Algeria files a complaint with CAF for bad arbitration

Bouaké: The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) filed a complaint with CAF on Saturday evening for 'imperfections noted' in the refereeing following the match between the Stallions of Burkina Faso at the Fennecs at the Bouaké Peace Stadium (Ivory Coast ), we learned from media sources. In a press release of which the AIB had a copy, the FAF, while welcoming 'the efforts made to raise the level of organization of the continental event, regrets the imperfections noted'. The supreme body of Algerian football says it does not understand 'why the CAF Arbitration Commission appoints the same VAR referee as during the first match, which raises legitimate questions about the inappropriateness of such an appointment, especially since contentious actions during the match were not noted by the VAR referees, such as the fouls committed on our players at (10') and (57')'. 'The FAF's complaint is based on verifiable facts to which the responsible referees must respond. Through this complaint, the Algerian Football Federa tion hopes for intervention so that the arbitration is of a better level and up to the prestigious continental competition. The Fennecs of Algeria snatched a 2-goal draw with the Etalons of Burkina Faso during the 2nd day of group matches in group D. Between Algeria and Burkina Faso the matches become like a classic of the African continent, punctuated by disputes. In 2013 during the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, Burkina Faso, which felt robbed of its qualification for the World Cup, also filed a complaint with FIFA which ultimately did not result in a favorable response Source: Burkina Information Agency
