Fight against corruption: ASCE reveals itself and raises awareness

Bobo-Dioulasso: The Higher Authority for State Control and the Fight against Corruption (ASCE-LC), was present at the craft and commercial fair of the 21st edition of the National Culture Week ( SNC) with a stand that particularly attracts attention. In its mission to fight corruption in Burkina Faso, the High Authority for State Control and the Fight against Corruption (ASCE-LC) wants to reveal itself to the general public. To do this, she actively took part in the 21st edition of the National Culture Week (SNC) held in Bobo-Dioulasso from April 27 to May 4, 2024 by hosting a stand at the craft and trade fair. In a country where corruption remains a major challenge, this participation of ASCE-LC in the SNC demonstrates its determination to fight corruption in all its forms. Through an interactive stand, ASCE-LC sought to raise awareness and mobilize the Burkinabè public in this fight. This stand, a 'real showcase' of its actions, offered visitors the opportunity to understand the challenges of corruptio n and the means to oppose it. Leaflets and informative flyers were distributed to highlight the different facets of this scourge and the actions taken to combat it. Visitors were also able to interact with ASCE-LC representatives, ask questions and share concerns. According to the State Controller and Head of the Department of National Prevention Strategy at ASCE-LC, Mamoudou Drabo, the objective is to benefit from the SNC where cultural values, integrity and honesty are highlighted. value in raising public awareness. 'We believe that the promotion and reappropriation of these values by citizens can help us prevent and fight corruption. Before, there was less corruption, because people still had their values,' he stressed. The ASCE-LC stand, continued Mamadou Drabo, is much more than a simple information space, it is a place for exchange and awareness. 'We must all understand that corruption concerns us all, and that we must act together to put an end to it,' said Mr. Drabo, inviting visitors to get inv olved in the fight. But awareness doesn't stop there. ASCE-LC also uses radio airwaves to reach a wider audience. 'We organize interactive broadcasts to encourage dialogue on corruption and its consequences,' explained Mamoudou Drabo while emphasizing the importance of partnership with local media. One of the highlights of ASCE-LC's participation in the SNC is the panel on cultural values and the fight against corruption. 'Our traditional values of integrity and honesty are our best defense against corruption,' said the head of the national prevention strategy department. He also recalled the importance of preserving these ancestral values. For ASCE-LC, participation in the SNC goes beyond mere attendance. 'We want every citizen to feel involved in the fight against corruption. We want this to become a national cause,' Mr. Drabo said with determination. At the ASCE-LC stand, visitors were invited to actively engage in the fight against corruption. 'We need everyone's support to succeed.
