Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Ganzourgou, Mrs. Aminata Sorgho/ Gouba, presided over the traditional solemn raising of colors on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. In pursuit of the initiative of raising colors in a rotating manner in the administrative services, it was the provincial directorate of agriculture and animal and fisheries resources which hosted the ceremony.
On February 6, 2024, the first Tuesday of the month, the provincial directorate in charge of agriculture and animal resources in Zorgho was the scene of a solemn ceremony: the raising of the national colors. This event, chaired by Ms. Sorgho/Gouba, brought together directors, heads of provincial services, as well as agents of the said directorate.
At the end of this protocol ritual, the provincial director of agriculture expressed his gratitude to the high commissioner for choosing his service as the setting for this significant celebration. He also took the opportunity to briefly present his management to the participants.
In return, Ms.
Sorgho praised the efforts made by the provincial directorate of agriculture to acquire a mast and a flag for this ceremony. She welcomed the remarkable mobilization of provincial officials and agents, thus underlining their commitment to honoring national symbols. She recalled the importance of this approach, affirming that ‘no one wants to belong to a weak nation’.
In a speech marked with patriotic fervor, Ms. Sorgho urged the audience to remain mobilized to defend the homeland and preserve the integrity of the national territory. She also highlighted the laudable initiative of the solemn raising of colors in the various provincial directors and welcomed the progress made in this direction.
In addition, she raised the possibility of this practice extending to schools and municipalities in order to revive the patriotic spirit among the populations. This perspective was received with enthusiasm, reflecting the collective desire to strengthen civic values.
Ms. Sorgho then called for a spirit of sacrifice an
d commitment for the honor of the homeland, affirming that no effort is too much in this noble enterprise. The next appointment is scheduled for the first Tuesday in March, in another department that will be designated for this purpose.
