Houet Celebrates Maouloud with Piety and Unity

Bobo-dioulasso: On the night of September 4 to 5, 2025, the Muslim community of Bobo-Dioulasso marked the birth of the Prophet Mohammed (PSL), known as Maouloud, with profound piety and reverence.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the city witnessed a significant turnout of worshippers from the early hours of Thursday evening. Key locations such as the Yeguere sports field and the esplanade of the Sangoule Lamizana sports stadium became gathering spots for many believers. These spaces saw a congregation of Muslims who came together to recharge their spiritual energies and engage in collective prayers.

The celebrations were characterized by Quranic readings, religious songs, and sermons that reflected on the exemplary life of the Prophet Mohammed. His life, marked by justice, solidarity, tolerance, and love for one's neighbor, served as a focal point for the teachings shared during the night.

Religious leaders at both sites, as observed by the AIB, emphasized a common message of unity. They urged the Burkinabe community to embrace mutual forgiveness, live harmoniously, and pray for the restoration of peace and security in the country.

Maouloud also provided an opportunity to reinforce social cohesion. It served as a reminder that the values advocated by Islam are fundamental in building a fraternal and peaceful society.
