ICJ: “For Tunisia, the Zionist entity is committing genocide in Gaza” international law expert

“For Tunisia, the Zionist entity is committing genocide in Gaza,” said international law expert Slim Laghmani on Friday.

The Israeli entity, which has the power of decision and execution, is “deliberately” committing a massacre of Palestinians.

Speaking at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, the international law expert warned of the legal consequences of Israel’s policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territories.

For Laghmani, the genocide perpetrated by the Zionist entity is supported by legal texts, including the so-called basic laws which declare Israel “the historic homeland of the Jews”, as well as by the practices of the Israeli army and security forces, or even by statements made by senior Israeli officials.

The expert stressed that Israel has “gone beyond its occupation policy” by implementing discriminatory measures and waging a war of annihilation in the Gaza Strip since October 7.

“There is clear evidence to exterminate the Palestinians and denigrate those who
survived as a group of stateless refugees,” he stressed.

Slim Laghmani was appointed by President Kais Saied to present Tunisia’s case to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
