The Islamic Republic of Iran plans to build a refinery in Burkina Faso and export petroleum products there, AIB learned on Tuesday.
“During our meeting with Burkina Faso Foreign Minister Olivia Rouamba, we reaffirmed our decision to build a refinery with the participation of specialists from both countries and to begin exports of petroleum products,” said Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji, according to the Shana agency cited by TASS.
Note that Iran is one of the top 10 largest oil producers in the world with nearly 2.6 million barrels per day.
As a reminder, the head of Burkinabe diplomacy has been staying in Tehran since Monday for a friendship and working visit.
