Ouagadougou: Former South African President Jacob Zuma affirmed on Wednesday that he supports the sovereignist policy initiated by the Burkinabe authorities. Jacob Zuma was welcomed this Wednesday afternoon at Ouagadougou International Airport by Burkinabe authorities at 1 p.m.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, Karamoko Jean Marie Traore, as well as the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the United States and former Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Kassoum Coulibaly, were present to welcome the former South African Head of State. Mr. Zuma stated that he came to Burkina Faso to support the Burkinabe authorities in their vision of national sovereignty and that of the African continent as a whole.
The former South African president will stay in Ouagadougou, where he will host a conference on November 1, 2025, as part of the activities of the Delegation of Afro-descendants. As a reminder, Jacob Zuma was President of the Republic of South Africa from May 9, 2009 to February 16, 2018.
