Noumbiel: Koriba archers prepare for the Djoro Regional Culture Week. Koriba archers are training to win everything at the Regional Culture Week of the Djoro region, which will be held from October 16 to 18, 2025, in Gaoua. Under the supervision of the Provincial Director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism (DPCCAT) of Noumbiel, Fassoha Sylvestre SOME, the training sessions are part of the preparations for the Regional Culture Week of Djoro.
According to Burkina Information Agency, ten archers from the adult men's Pool, coming from three localities in the commune of Batie, will represent and defend Noumbiel from October 16 to 18 in Gaoua. The provincial director in charge of culture in Noumbiel, Fassoha Sylvestre SOME, expressed confidence in the team's abilities. He stated, "With the precision demonstrated by some archers during training this morning, if we continue on this path, we are convinced that the other provinces risk having to abandon the archery competition, because all the places will be allocated to Noumbiel."
For the canton chief of Koriba village, archery holds significant cultural importance. He emphasized that archery is one of the Dagara's cultural heritages, remarking, "Returning to the roots would only be a salutary action and we give them our full support."
