A delegation of the provincial authorities of Kossi headed by the High Commissioner of the province, Dô Jacques Abel Sanou, visited on Friday, April 14, 2023, the internally displaced students of the city of Nouna in their various host sites.

The authorities of the province of Kossi want to touch on the realities experienced by internally displaced students in the city of Nouna.

To this end, a delegation of the provincial authorities of Kossi headed by the High Commissioner of the province, Dô Jacques Abel Sanou, toured on Friday, April 14, 2023, sites housing internally displaced students.

The sites visited are the Cité des jeunes, occupied by primary school students and the Provincial High School which includes the colleges of Dokuy, Bonikuy, Dara, Kamadena, Dembo, Goni, Bagala, Konkuykoro and the students of the Terminale of the municipal high school of Nouna .

The delegation expressed its encouragement to these students and praised the "high sense" of patriotism of the teachers and their spirit of resilience.

The supervisors appreciated this visit and promised to take up the challenges presented to them for the influence of Burkinabè education.

Difficulties of several kinds related in particular to accommodation and food have been submitted to the authorities.

It also appears that some students find themselves in precarious shelters used as dormitories or in tents and the learning conditions are not met for primary school students who are far from their parents, making them very vulnerable.

The province of Kossi registers more than 7,500 internally displaced students, including approximately 3,500 in secondary school and more than 4,000 primary school students
