Koudougou Hosts USSU-BF U15 National Final Phase

Koudougou: The national final phase of the under-fifteen (U15) team of the Union of School and University Sports of Burkina Faso (USSU-BF) officially began this Wednesday in Koudougou. The kick-off was given by the interim governor of the Centre-West, Adama Jean Yves B©r©, on the set of the regional sports and leisure department.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was organized by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and saw the participation of prominent figures from the region's governing bodies, sports enthusiasts, and delegations from across Burkina Faso. A ceremonial raising of the national flag was conducted to instill the fundamental values of the state in the young athletes.

Governor B©r© highlighted the significance of raising the colors while singing the national anthem as a commitment to the values of the republic. He recalled the role of sport in social cohesion and community life, urging participants to follow discipline, fair play, and respect for instructors' directions. "There will be no losers at the end of the competitions; Burkinabe sport as a whole will win," he stated.

The competitions, scheduled to take place from May 21 to 25, 2025, will feature several sports, including men's football, women's handball, athletics for both girls and boys, and traditional wrestling, which is open to both sexes.
