Kourittenga: The Alumni Association of the Saint Augustine Minor Seminary of Baskour© (AASB), bringing together different classes, took communion on Sunday, August 3, 2025, through a thanksgiving mass to celebrate the 2nd edition of their reunion day. It was under the presidency of the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Koup©la, Mgr Gabriel Sayaogo, and the presence of the Minister in charge of Communication.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Association of Alumni of the Saint Augustine Minor Seminary of Baskour© (AASB) celebrated its second reunion through biblical readings and songs of praise. Certificates of recognition were awarded to individuals who contribute to the smooth running of the Association and the seminary.
AASB President Denis Dawend© stated that the goal of the reunion was to live in brotherhood, in communion, and to share the moments they experienced together at the seminary. "As alumni of this house, which we affectionately call Mother Baskour©, it was to meet again and think about initiatives to support the house, hence the organization of this reunion. It is to invite those who were unable to make the trip not to miss the next time," he added.
The Minister of Communication, Gilbert Ou©draogo, a former student of the seminary and patron of this second edition, invited the Association to pray for Burkina Faso, which is facing a security crisis. "What makes a person is the education he has received on the human, spiritual, and intellectual levels. The seminarians have been well trained in this," said Gilbert Ou©draogo.
He called on them to truly commit themselves so that today's society is a peaceful society and that all development efforts undertaken by the government under the leadership of the Head of State can be supported and that the final victory will soon be celebrated.
The celebrant, the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Koup©la, Mgr Gabriel Sayaogo, reminded the former seminarians of their vocation and, in particular, the vocation of each one, which is beneficial for the whole country.
