The high commissioner of the province of Léraba, Mahamadi Congo handed over on Thursday September 14, 2023 in Sindou, clothing and food offered by local women to internally displaced women, in the presence of the provincial director of social action, Ousmane Ouédraogo.
Around twenty women grouped into a women's association called “Woman and Life” decided to support internally displaced women in the town of Sindou (Cascades) with clothes and bags of corn.
The donation is the result of individual contributions from members of the said association.
The High Commissioner of the province of Léraba, Mahamadi Congo thanked the donors for their donation and promised to support the “Woman and Life” association for its success.
According to the manager, Agnès Karama, her structure works in the processing of non-wood forest products such as peanut butter, soumbala, shea butter and saponification.
Ms. Karama specified that her association's initiative aims to ensure economic autonomy for women in the province of Léraba.
