Market Garden Site Management Committees Enhance Skills in Baskoure

Kourittenga/commune of baskoure: Management Committees (COGES) of the market gardening sites of Natenga, Koudjoghin, and Tossin strengthened their capacities on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Baskoure. Each site is represented by 10 members. Initiated by the REDD+ project as part of the sustainable management of communal landscapes, the training aims to strengthen the capacities of 30 participants from these market gardening sites.

According to Burkina Information Agency, 30 members of the management committees from the market gardening sites of Natenga, Koudjoghin, and Tossin were equipped with new skills and knowledge during the training session. The discussions focused on the importance, responsibilities, role, qualities, functioning, and teamwork of COGES members.

The head of the Baskoure agricultural technical support zone and trainer, Souleymane Tapsoba, invited the participants to show attention and seriousness in order to capitalize on the acquired knowledge for the proper maintenance of these sites. Simon Guedem, one of the participants, expressed his joy at being associated with this initiative. Meanwhile, Victorine Oubda, also a participant, noted that this training is very useful and will contribute to better organizing collective work on the site.

As a reminder, this training is part of the Sustainable Management of Communal Landscapes for REDD+ project, which works to preserve natural resources while supporting income-generating activities for local communities.
