Meeting of ministers of the Alliance of Sahel States: the Malian delegation is present in Ouagadougou

The Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans, General Kassoum COULIBALY, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè Abroad, SEM Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, the Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries Mr. Yacouba Zabré GOUBA, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Posts and Electronic Communications Aminata ZERBO/SABANE, the Minister Delegate in charge of Regional Cooperation, Estella Eldine KABRE/ KABORE, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget Fatoumata BAKO/TRAORE, and several executives of ministerial departments, welcomed on the evening of February 14, 2024 a strong Malian delegation composed of the Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization , Colonel Abdoulaye MAIGA, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, SEM Abdoulaye DIOP and five other ministers at Ouagadougou international airport. This delegation is in the Burkinabe capital as part of the meeting of ministers of the Alliance of Sahel States which will be held on Thursday February 15, 2024 From the first words of the Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs, this meeting in Ouagadougou is a major turning point for the Alliance of Sahel States 'AES' in view of the geopolitical and geostrategic context. Noting that Burkina Faso is a brother country and a strategic partner of Mali, HE Abdoulaye DIOP indicated that HE Colonel Assimi GOITA hoped that there would be a great mobilization of the Malian government to move quickly in the realization of strategic choices of the AES. It should be noted that the Alliance of Sahel States began with the adoption on September 16, 2023 of the charter of the Alliance of Sahel States which established a military alliance which, gradually, evolved by integrating other dimensions including economic and commercial integration and the rapprochement of peoples.
