Nahouri/Commune of Pô: A sports competition to prepare students for exam class

The High Commissioner of the province of Nahouri, Auguste Kinda, chaired on Sunday April 14, 2024 in Pô, the maracana final in women's and men's football of the 2nd edition of the inter-establishment competition tournament of the Nahouri . The competition aims to enable students from the province in exam classes to improve their performance. Started last March, the inter-establishment competition in the province of Nahouri ended on Sunday April 14, 2024 with the men's and women's grand finals, in the presence of the daughters and sons of the province and several personalities. A total of 22 men's teams, 10 women's teams from the province as well as athletics and gymnastics filled these four weeks of competitions. According to the founder of the private high school The accounting technician of Pô and also promoter of the tournament, Issakou Tianabou, this competition allows students from the province in exam class to improve their performance on the one hand and on the other hand, raise their awareness on r espect for state symbols. 'Also during the competitions, the students were made aware of social cohesion, living together, citizen participation and patriotic commitment,' said Mr. Tianabou. The football final pitted the team from the Tèdan school complex against the municipal girls' high school and the Dakola high school against Philadelphia boys. At the end of regulation time, the Tèdan girls defeated the municipal high school by a score of 1 to 0. It was by this same score of 1 to 0 that the boys from Dakola High School beat Philadelphia High School. The girls from Tèdan pocket an envelope of 100,000 F CFA, a trophy, a ball and a set of jerseys and the boys from Dakola high school leave with an envelope of 110,000 F CFA, a trophy, two balls and a set of jerseys. The teams ranked second through tenth were also rewarded. The athletes ranked first and second in each discipline were also rewarded. The latter received tablets and school kits. The regional director of post-primary and secondary education in the Center-South, Ahoua Illy/Kaboré, welcomed the initiative. She indicated that this is a first in the region and invited the daughters and sons of the province to support the initiative which will allow students to improve before the end of year exams.
