Namentenga: Sport to celebrate the 167th International Women’s Day

The provincial coordination of women’s organizations in Namentenga with the support of provincial authorities and sponsors celebrated on Friday March 8, 2024 in Boulsa, the 167th International Women’s Rights Day, through a cycling race women’s and a Maracana final of the high commissioner, Adama Conseiga. The governor of the Center-North region, Blaise Ouédraogo participated in this women’s celebration under the theme “Community entrepreneurship, contributions of women”.

Launched on November 30, 2023, the Maracana tournament had its epilogue on March 8, 2024 with the victory of the association / NGO training against that of the youth by the score of a goal to 0. In cycling, Toukré Lallogo, for having covered a 3 km circuit twice in 22 minutes, outperformed the 13 other cyclists in the competition.

According to the provincial coordinator of women’s organizations in Namentenga, Ms. Taondyandé née Ouédraogo Clarisse, cycling aims to promote social cohesion and the resilience of women, in the face of the diffic
ult security context.

The High Commissioner, Adama Conseiga indicated that the situation of the woman of Namentenga is like the fighting woman of Burkina.

For a real development of “the other half of the sky”, the first person in charge of the province of Namentenga recalled that women, as a prelude to their 7th forum which will soon be held in Ouagadougou, have raised three main grievances.

For them, this involves the rehabilitation and equipping of the fence of the Boulsa woman’s house, the creation of crèches for early childhood and specific training for the benefit of women.

Regarding the theme of the year: ‘Community entrepreneurship, contributions of women’, the High Commissioner urged women to form cooperatives or unions. Conseiga asked women to take many actions, with a view to contributing to the realization of the government’s development projects.

He also said he was satisfied with the organization of March 8 in Boulsa and the results achieved on the ground in terms of security in the province
.

The governor of the Center-North region, Blaise Ouédraogo, for his part, paid tribute to the fighting forces, to the honorary president of the ceremony, Naaba Sonré de Boulsa, to the godfathers, Dieudonné Nonaba, Mrs. Taondyandé née Ouédraogo Clarisse and the elected consular, El Hadj Karim Kormodo.

Ouédraogo asked the population of his region to remain united and united for its development.
