Namentenga: The Director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of the Kuils© region, Satiatou Oubda, led a capacity-building session in Boulsa from Tuesday, July 22 to Wednesday, July 23, 2025, targeting tourism stakeholders such as hoteliers, restaurateurs, and bar promoters. Participants expressed satisfaction with the knowledge gained and advocated for support in obtaining business licenses in their respective sectors.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session focused on enhancing skills in customer reception and understanding the legal texts governing business operations, particularly the acquisition of business licenses. While customer service did not present challenges, the process of obtaining business licenses remained a significant hurdle. Statistics from the regional tourism directorate indicate that many stakeholders in Namentenga are not compliant with existing laws. The regional director emphasized the necessity of legal compliance for those seeking public contracts at various governmental levels and encouraged collaboration to protect their interests. The discussions were robust, particularly concerning the documentation required for business licenses. Participants also highlighted the lack of effective communication channels and noted that many meeting attendees in Boulsa opt to stay outside the city, which they believe hinders the promotion of local activities.
The regional director, along with provincial directors from Bam, Namentenga, and Sandbondtenga, praised the fruitful discussions and expressed readiness to support the stakeholders. They urged the stakeholders to actively promote their fields and work diligently towards achieving compliance and growth.
