Nazinon Region Finalizes Representatives for SNC Bobo 2026

Bazega: The province of Bazega in the Nazinon region hosted from September 15 to 17, 2025 in Kombissiri, the cultural competitions of the Regional Culture Week (SRC) 2025, which made it possible to designate the representatives of the region for the National Culture Week (SNC) Bobo 2026. The ambassadors of the Nazinon region for the Bobo National Culture Week (SNC) 2026 are now known.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the selection of these representatives from the provinces of Bazega, Nahouri, and Zoundweogo was made following the competitions of the Regional Culture Week (SRC) 2025, held from September 15 to 17 in Kombissiri, capital of the province of Bazega. There were 127 troupes, stars, and candidates participating in the SRC competitions in Kombissiri: 40 troupes in performing arts, 11 candidates in culinary arts, 33 in archery including 2 women, and 43 in traditional wrestling including 16 women.

Following the announcement of the results by the various juries, there are 57 representatives, all disciplines combined, who will defend the colors of the region at the SNC Bobo 2026. In the performing arts category, the qualified troupes include Youth Pool: in ballet, the Tindbeogo troupe from Sapone, Bazega province, and in traditional dance, the Majorettes from Manga, Zoundweogo province. Adult Pool: Trait d'Union from Bazega in orchestra, Kabore P. Brice Landry from Bazega in slam, the Kouwelilougou troupe from Ballerebie from Nahouri in popular choirs, Aditoua Koumangba from Nahouri in traditional song star, the Wendsongda troupe from Zoundweogo in traditional instrumental music, and the Kora troupe from Tiebele from Nahouri in traditional dance.

In the culinary arts category, the winners are Komsimbo Eugenie from Bazega with her dish "Balanitesse Americaine" in light dishes, Nikiema Mamounata from Bazega with her dish "Gnon au poulet saute" in heavy dishes, and Ilboudo Germaine from Bazega with her dish "Pain de singe au lait" in drinks. The jury recommended that the general management of the SNC consider Nikiema Lucie from Zoundweogo, who scored 15.5/20 in heavy dishes.

In the traditional sports category concerning traditional wrestling, the youth pool (men and women) saw 21 candidates from Bazega and 4 from Nahouri selected. In the adult pool, 13 candidates from Bazega and 3 from Nahouri were selected. In the archery discipline, 2 men in the youth pool and 3 men in the adult pool, all from Nahouri, qualified.

The High Commissioner of Bazega, Tene Justine Kientega/Ilboudo, on behalf of the Governor of Nazinon, encouraged all the artists and congratulated those selected to represent the region at the 22nd edition of the SNC in Bobo-Dioulasso from April 25 to May 2, 2026. According to Mrs. Kientega, the cultural diversity expressed in Kombissiri is a call for the unity of the daughters and sons of the region around a common ideal: peace, solidarity, and shared progress.
