Officials of the Ministry in charge of the Economy liable to prosecution if they cover up unjustified absences

The Acting Secretary General of the Ministry in charge of the Economy, Alfred Thiombiano, indicated in a note that any official of the said ministry who would cover up an unjustified absence is liable to disciplinary proceedings. 'I hereby instruct you to ensure the effective presence of your employees in the services in accordance with the regulatory provisions. However, any offending official who would cover up an unjustified absence is liable to disciplinary proceedings,' indicated the acting Secretary General (SG) of the ministry in charge of the economy, Alfred Thiombiano, in a note received this Thursday by AIB. According to Mr. Thiombiano, the proper functioning of the administration requires that each agent properly occupy their workstation. Commitment and punctuality are essential to maintaining a productive and harmonious work environment, he adds. 'However, I have noticed that some agents report frequent and irregular absences from their workstation,' he regrets. For the SG, this is contrary to the government's vision of building an efficient administration based on respect for ethical and professional standards. Source: Burkina Information Agency
