The Oil and Chemical Products Union has decided to stage a two-day strike, September 29-30, in response to the absence of the Chamber of Hazardous Products Transport from the negotiation meeting held on Tuesday, said Secretary-General Salwen Smiri. The National Chamber of Hazardous Products Transport, the National Chamber of Road Transport, and the National Chamber of Goods Transport are relevant to the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA). They were all conspicuously absent from this meeting, Smiri told TAP. The Union had put forth concessions in pursuit of reaching an agreement, deferring it multiple times, yet had received no response regarding its demands for salary increases for fuel transport sector employees during the period of 2018-2019 and for the years 2022-2023-2024.
