One Bag of Cement Campaign Sparks Civic Participation in Fada N’Gourma

Ouagadougou: The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, responsible for Relations with Institutions, organized a patriotic action day in Fada N'Gourma under the theme "One participant, one bag of cement for Faso Mebo." This event is part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JNEPPC 2025), which aims to rally citizens around the presidential initiative Faso Mebo for local development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was led by the Secretary General of the Eastern Region, Mr. Siaka Ouattara, who represented the absent Governor, Mr. Ram Joseph Kafando. Mr. Ouattara emphasized the importance of citizen involvement in the initiative, urging everyone to support efforts to improve living conditions. He acknowledged the defense and security forces for maintaining peace, enabling the success of the event.

The Regional Director of Human Rights, Citizenship Promotion and Peace, Mr. Boulema Yonli, highlighted the initiative's reflection of the JNEPPC's spirit. He noted the symbolic significance of each citizen contributing a bag of cement to foster communal development. The activity's sponsor contributed ten tons of cement, which Mr. Yonli commended, urging continued citizen engagement.

Ms. Diallo, born Thiombiano Georgette, president of the Patriotic Women of the Eastern Region, expressed women's support for the Faso Mebo initiative, aligning with the ideals of President Ibrahim Traore. She encouraged women's participation in promoting and supporting the initiative.

The event featured in-kind contributions and active citizen participation in making paving stones, demonstrating a collective commitment to sustainable development.
