Ouagadougou: As part of health cooperation between Burkina Faso and Russia, the African Initiative association organized Thursday, for the benefit of around fifty students and staff of the municipal high school of Badnoogo, an emergency first aid training workshop.'The school is a place of life. If the various actors are experienced in the management of cases of illness and basic care, this will save lives' declares Azenwo Soumaïla Ayo, President of the African Initiative Association. For him, it is important for students and supervisors to have knowledge of first aid in order to deal with any Malaysians within the establishment.Mr. Ayo spoke Thursday in Ouagadougou during the emergency first aid training workshop initiated by the African Initiative association, for the benefit of around fifty actors from the Badnoogo municipal high school in the Sabtoana district of Ouagadougou. The training was provided by Doctor Dolbnya Dmitri, Russian doctor, as part of Burkina-Russia bilateral cooperation.'It hap pens that at times, a student has a seizure or in their activities with classmates an injury occurs. Before the firefighters arrive, the others can already help him,' explained the President of the association.During the workshop, techniques for handling cases of loss of consciousness, blocked airways, fracture, electrocution, drowning and others were discussed.'This is training that will be very useful for us members of the administration as well as for the students' says Emmanuel Nikièma, Principal of Badnooma municipal high school.Mr. Nikièma wanted the training to be extended to all students of the said establishment.A donation of first aid equipment consisting of medicines, digital blood pressure monitors and plasters was made.According to the beneficiaries, this constitutes a sign of relief.'We learned that in the event of an accident, we must bring the victim to safety, put him in a side safety position if he is unconscious' notes Bilal Compaoré, General Delegate (DG) of the students.'If we are faced with an electrocuted person, we must cut off the source of electricity or remove the victim with an insulator' adds the CEO of the students.Since the end of 2023, the African Initiative association has organized around ten training courses for the benefit of young people, students and pupils in the city of Ouagadougou.African Initiative also intervenes in the field of sport, recently by supporting the organization of a Sambo competition which brought together participants from Russia and the Alliance of Sahel States, namely Burkina Faso, Mali and NigerSource: Burkina Information Agency
