Passoré: An association summarizes the concerns of communities benefiting from the PCRSS in the North

The Rural World Association (AMR) with the financial support of the Sahel Community Recovery and Stabilization Project (PCRSS) organized from August 19 to 23, 2024 in Yako, a summary workshop concerns of the communities benefiting from the project, in the Northern region.As part of the implementation of the Sahel Community Recovery and Stabilization Project (PCRSS), the Rural World Association (AMR) held an exchange meeting with the Presidents of the special delegations (PDS) of 9 beneficiary municipalities of the Northern region project, with a view to providing a summary of the concerns of the populations of the beneficiary municipalities.The town of Yako hosted the meeting which lasted five days. On this occasion, participants received communications summarizing the concerns of each of the beneficiaries of the project, initiated by the government of Burkina Faso and financed by the World Bank.The general objective of the meeting was to take stock of the populations' concerns arising from the communi ty consultations. The discussions focused on several communications delivered by the speaker, Jacques Somda.The communications focused on the analysis and prioritization of the needs of the municipalities of Titao, Ouindigui, Barga, Thiou, Namissiguima, Ouahigouya, Gourcy, Arbollé and Yako.In the communes of Titao and Ouindigui, the work focused, among other things, on the reformulation of activities eligible by the World Bank, namely, the identification of implementation sites, the precision of the number of beneficiaries and the acquisition of equipment. of implementation.In the municipalities of Barga and Thiou, eligible needs were discussed relating to the provision of rehabilitation equipment, the extension of schools and CSPS and especially capacity building activities for stakeholders.Concerning the municipalities of Namissiguima, Gourcy, Arbollé and Yako, the eligible activities are the provision of equipment, the rehabilitation and extension of schools as well as the drilling of boreholes.To this end, the commune of Ouahigouya was asked to re-examine and reform its file, with a view to prioritizing the most urgent and eligible activities by the World Bank.At the end of the various presentations, several recommendations were reformulated by the participants from the communities, the regional branch of the project as well as the AMR.This involved, among other things, consulting the technical services of the environment, agriculture and humanitarian action in the finalization of the annual municipal investment plans (PAIC).They also wanted the provision of animals and poultry for the groups to be a priority and above all to ensure the availability of sites for the projects.The regional head of the PCRSS du Nord, Polycarpe Naré and the national coordinator of the AMR, Amadou Wangré, satisfied with the progress of the workshop, invited the participants to work towards the operationalization of the recommendations resulting from the discussions.'I am completely satisfied, because all the c ommunities benefiting from the project responded to the meeting.
