President Saied reiterates Tunisia’s rejection of interference in its affairs

President Kais Saied reiterated at a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, Friday, Tunisia's commitment to its sovereignty and the constants of its foreign policy, the most important of which is its rejection of interference in internal affairs.

The meeting focused on the minister's recent visit to France.

Saied was quoted in a Presidency statement as saying Tunisia, «which refuses to interfere in the affairs of other countries, refuses in return that anyone interferes in its internal affairs that stem from the will of its people.»

He stressed that Tunisia has a much richer history in rights and freedoms than many other countries.

President Saied recalled that the Tunisian people, who rose up and revolted for freedom and national dignity, will never accept going backwards.

"Tunisia is able to give rather than receive lessons from any side whatsoever," he pointed out.

Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar made a working visit to France on May 30-31, at the invitation of his counterpart Catherine Colonna.
