Sandbondtenga/Monitoring of the 2025-2026 Agropastoral Campaign: The Governor of Koulse Satisfied with the Appearance of the Crops

Sandbondtenga: A monitoring mission for the 2025-2026 agro-pastoral campaign carried out a field visit to the province of Sandbondtenga on Monday, under the leadership of the governor of the Koulse region, Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ouedraogo, who expressed his satisfaction with the condition of the crops.

According to Burkina Information Agency, after the province of Namentenga, the supervision mission led by Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ouedraogo, crisscrossed the fields of the villages of the communes of Ziga and Korsimoro, in the province of Sandbondtenga. This mission is part of the 2023-2025 agro-pastoral and fisheries offensive and aims to assess the progress of actions undertaken as part of the 2025-2026 agro-pastoral campaign, in particular the implementation of hydro-agricultural developments, the distribution of agro-pastoral inputs, and the popularization of good agricultural practices.

It allowed authorities and those involved in implementing agricultural policies to communicate directly with producers and gather their concerns. In the villages of Sapelce and Kossi, rice-growing lowlands of 20 hectares each, whose appearance promises a good harvest, were visited. In Komtenga, the mission observed three hectares of sorghum cultivated using the zai technique.

During the visit, Colonel-Major Ouedraogo welcomed the progress made and expressed his satisfaction with the appearance of the crops observed. The producers expressed their appreciation and satisfaction with the efforts made by the authorities. According to them, the initiatives of the President of Faso are the basis for the success of this agro-pastoral campaign.

NGO and program officials present on the ground committed to resolving the difficulties raised by producers, particularly regarding water availability and product storage. This field trip, part of the 2023-2025 agro-pastoral and fisheries offensive, brought together a large delegation, including the region's deputy in the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT), the region's mission officer at the presidency, the regional director in charge of agriculture, the high commissioner of Sandbondtenga, as well as local administrative authorities and development partners.
