Shilling continues to gain in Tuesday’s session

The Uganda shilling continued to strengthen during Tuesday’s session as demand for hard currency remained limited with continued healthy inflows during a quiet session of trading, traders said.

The local unit closed the day’s trading at the 3540/3550 levels from an opening of 3550/3560 per dollar.

Money markets were fairly liquid according to Absa with overnight yields at averages of 6.80%.
