The Secretary General of the province of Léraba, Yéonviel Somé, representing the High Commissioner Mahamadi Congo, gave the starting signal on Thursday, July 20, 2023, of the activities of Camp Vacances Environnement for the benefit of the students of Léraba.
It is within the framework of their missions of implementation of the policy of the Ministry of the Environment, that the Provincial Directorate of the Environment of Léraba, in order to promote environmental education, organizes each year the summer camp for the benefit of students during the holidays in Sindou and this for one (01) month.
Started since the holidays of 2015, this initiative is in its 9th edition in this year 2023.
According to the Provincial Director of the Environment of Léraba, also promoter of this activity, Foé André Joseph Bonaventure Traoré, environmental education aims to raise awareness among the youngest about the realities of environmental problems, while giving them solid foundations for the safeguard and / or restoration of their environments.
It is a real pleasure for him to be able to usefully occupy the time of the pupils during these holidays through this learning framework on current environmental issues and events, their causes, their consequences and how to remedy them.
This learning will be done through communications, image projections, documentary films, exchanges and guided tours.
In general, respect for trees, nature, their environment as well as a sense of individual and collective responsibility are among other characteristics that these learners will have to cultivate during this month.
Yéonviel Somé, before giving the starting signal for these activities, encouraged the participants to be assiduous and to follow all the programs.
