The Saadon association, in collaboration with the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) launched on Tuesday February 13, 2024 in Léo, the 2nd phase of its program 'women preventing violent extremism (WPVE )' which means women against violent extremism, for the benefit of the peace amazons of Sissili.The second phase of the Saadon association program called 'women preventing violent extremism (WPVE)' which means women against violent extremism was launched on Tuesday February 13, 2024 in Léo, capital of the province of Sissili, in the region from the Central West.This launching ceremony under the presidency of the representative of the high commissioner, the secretary general of the province of Sissili, Baowindsida Bingo, was attended by the 2nd vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Léo, Moussa Ouédraogo, customary and traditional authorities as well as representatives of civil society organizations.According to the country representative of the United States Institute of Peace (US IP), Cendrine Nama, the WPVE program aims to strengthen women's leadership in strategic thinking, policy formulation and implementation. actions, with a view to preventing violent extremism within their respective communities.Ms. Nama noted that the program is implemented in the Sahel and the Horn of Africa.'In Burkina Faso, the program is run by the Saadon association.
