Ouagadougou, On the occasion of the special edition of the Ouagadougou International Tourism and Hospitality Exhibition (SITHO) and the International Showcase of Tourism, Hospitality and Catering of Ouagadougou (VITHRO), a popular cross followed by an aerobics session was organized on Thursday October 26, 2023 afternoon on the SIAO site in Ouagadougou.
The cross mobilized more than 200 people according to the organizers. In particular, Tourism stakeholders, agents of the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism and the national organizing committee.
Above all, there were the police forces, notably the national police, the municipal police, the national police academy which came in large numbers.
The walkers started the cross in front of the Ouagadougou International Craft Fair (SIAO) and returned to the starting point after 3 kilometers of walking.
Among the marches was the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism Adama Segda.
According to her, this cross aims to allow Burkinabè people to meet to play sport in order to feel better and know each other better.
“Having the cross country and aerobics session this evening aims to tell the Burkinabè people once again that they are together, that they must unite, speak the same language,” she said.
According to Adama Segda, tourism is a sector that allows the integration of people with visits to countries, regions, localities, tourist sites.
She stressed that through travel, people meet each other, know their different cultures better and tolerate each other.
