SNC Bobo 2023: The Minister of Communication welcomes the launch of the printing press of the Regional Directorate of Editions Sidwaya

The Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, welcomed Tuesday, in Bobo-Dioulasso, the holding of Open Days (JPO) to the Regional Directorate of Editions Sidwaya which allows citizens to know the public press company.

According to him, the launch of the printing press is a great day because from now on the populations of the Western region will have the newspaper at the same time as those of Ouagadougou.

He thanked all the actors who worked to make it happen. The sponsor, Al-Hassan Siénou, also thanked Sidwaya for choosing the Hauts-Bassins region to house this printing press.

“This is what we have always wanted and wanted from the government, the deconcentration and dematerialization of the administration in our region”, insisted Mr. Sienou, also president of the consular delegation of Hauts-Bassins. In his opinion, this tool will be used by the economic sector, in particular for their printing work.

For the Secretary General of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konaté, the establishment of this printing press allows Sidwaya to get closer to the populations who consume information but also to play its role as a newspaper for all Burkinabè.

She recalled that it has been 15 years since Editions Sidwaya, supported by its structure, has been involved in the realization of this project. "The Regional Council's delegation is delighted with the outcome of this long-running project," said Ms. Konaté.
