SNC2024/Archery: Lamou Célestin Ky from the Boucle du Mouhoun more skillful than all

Archer Lamou Célestin Ky from Nayala in the Boucle du Mouhoun region won the archery competition of the National Culture Week in Bobo-Dioulasso on Thursday in the adult men's pool category, noted the AIB on site. Nayala shooter Lamou Ky scored a total of 13 points out of 60 in his two passes on the shooting line. He collected 6 points on his first pass and 7 points on the second, thus dethroning last year's winner Patrice Débé, author of a surprising poor performance during his passages on the shooting line. All his shots ended off target. the competitions were fiercely contested at the Wobi stadium 'I fail every year that I come to this competition at the SNC but I have never been discouraged. I worked hard this year before coming. The one I succeeded comes from Nayala,' said the big winner of the day, of the archery competition, Célestin Ky. In the ladies' pool category, it was Sib Pahirèna from Gaoua in the South-West who stole the spotlight from her competitors. She scored 6 points out of a possible 6 0. In the young boys' pool category it was Houkoune Hien from South West who was more skillful than all. He scored 28 points, 15 on the first pass and 13 on the second. He says he prepared well with equipment suitable for these types of competitions. Among the girls, Wiè Dabiré was champion. The president of the archery jury Pierre Badiel considers the level of the competition this year low. 'The level is not at all good,' he said, mentioning that it is at the youth level that it is acceptable with the first who collected 28 points compared to 13 among adult men. 'It's because there hasn't been enough training. During the regionals there was a little laxity. There are archers who haven't even shot but qualified. Others did not even hit the target but were qualified,' explained the president of the jury Pierre Badiel. He noted that archers must train better and that the selection juries in the regions must be more rigorous for future editions. 'If the result is unsuccessful, declare it unsuccessful and con tinue,' he complained. The organizers of the competition have announced that the official results will be announced later after careful verification. The wrestling final, the SNC's other sporting competition, takes place this Thursday evening (3:30 pm) in the Wobi stadium arena. The SNC Bobo 2024 takes place from April 27 to May 4.
