The electoral data of 18,000 voters had been updated so far in Sousse, ahead of the December 24 local elections.
The Independent Electoral Authority (IRIE) has been in contact with regional officials in public administrations, institutions and bodies to inform them of the various stages of the forthcoming elections, the IRIE coordinator in Sousse, Mariem Ben Njima, told TAP.
Awareness-raising campaigns have also been carried out for citizens in their workplaces, educational institutions and rural areas to familiarise them with the mechanisms and conditions for standing as a candidate, she added.
Sousse governorate has 16 delegations, 105 localities, 112 constituencies and 183 polling stations.
