“These are 67 boxes containing on average 12 chickens each, or more than 804 chickens,” said the provincial director of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries Resources of Zoundwéogo, Tasséré Kaboré, during the operation. cremation organized by the regional directorate of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries Resources of the Center-South.

The seizure was the work of the mobile brigade of the Regional Directorate in charge of the Environment of the Center-South, added Mr. Kaboré.

“It was following a mission that we organized (…) at the Pô-Ouagadougou axis that the agents intercepted this individual who was transporting these prohibited products towards Ouagadougou,” said the regional director in charge of Environment of the Center-South, Aboudou Ouédraogo .

According to Mr. Ouédraogo, beyond its missions related to environmental protection, the brigade of his direction provides support to other forces because of the complementarity existing between them.

“When we notice an infraction during our checks, we seize it and hand it over to the person concerned, as is the case with this seizure which we handed over to the directorate in charge of animal resources for the rest of the procedure,” explained Mr. Ouédraogo.

The provincial director in charge of animal resources in Zoundwéogo stressed that the Pô-Ouagadougou axis experiences significant trafficking in prohibited products, as evidenced by the seizures regularly carried out.

“These products that you see, however, like these frozen chickens, are dangerous for consumption because we know nothing about their origin, and they are not transported under normal conditions, without forgetting that they harm local production and trade local,” he confided.

Tasséré Kaboré therefore welcomes the successful operation of the mobile brigade of the regional directorate in charge of the Environment of the Center-South, while calling on the populations to collaborate to stop this trafficking “harmful to health and the economy. »
