Accountability, the cleansing of state agencies, stalled projects and the need to overcome all obstacles that have led to this situation were the focus of the meeting between President Kais Saied and Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani at Carthage Palace on Wednesday. The Head of State stressed the need to speed up the completion of these stalled projects, as studies have been completed and funds have been allocated, but implementation is lagging behind or, at best, is quickly disrupted, the Presidency said in a statement. The President of the Republic stressed the need to work to overcome all the reasons that have led to this delay, pointing out that the procedures that are sometimes followed are not aimed at respecting the law, but at responding to lobbies because these projects affect their interests. 'Unfortunately, those who participate in the disruptions and delays have become criminal networks working to replace the state in many public services such as transport, health, education and others.' President Kais Saied reiterated the need to clean up all state agencies and speed up the audit of the recruitment processes, as they are not only linked to these lobbies and a waste of public money, but also an extension of criminal networks that aim to abuse citizens and create crisis after crisis on an almost daily basis. The President of the Republic stressed that accountability is a popular demand, not just a slogan, and that it must be put into practice as soon as possible. He stressed that the 'Tunisian people have shown a high level of awareness that has thwarted these desperate attempts and that the state will remain strong and will not be disrupted by anyone and that no one will escape the accountability required by law.' During the meeting between the Head of State and the Prime Minister, the agenda of the next Cabinet meeting was discussed, during which a number of legislative texts will be examined. In this context, the President of the Republic stressed that Tunisia today needs new laws that reflect people's sovereignty.
