The choices of educational and professional orientations explained to new graduates from the North

The Regional Directorate for Post-Primary and Secondary Education (DREPS) in the North held the 7th Educational and Vocational Guidance Day (JOSP) from July 6 to 8, 2023 in Ouahigouya with a view to raising awareness among new baccalaureate holders, students and parents of students to make a good choice of educational and professional orientation.

For the 7th time in a row, the Regional Directorate for Post-Primary and Secondary Education in the North region organized the 2023 School and Vocational Guidance Days (JOSP) for the benefit of new graduates.

These days, according to the regional director of post-primary and secondary education in the North region, Hippolyte Ouédraogo, aim to allow the various actors involved in the education chain (Information and school guidance services and professional of the Bourses du Nord) to provide necessary information to new graduates, students, pupils and parents of pupils with a view to good academic and professional orientation.

“This is to reduce the problems related to educational and professional orientation, a very important step in the school and university curriculum,” he underlined.

For three days, presentations on orientation, professional integration, self-employment and youth entrepreneurship were presented to future students and pupils.

Similarly, the National Center for University Works (CENOU) and the National Fund for Education and Research (FONER) each explained the different steps to benefit from their services.

At this session, private institutes and universities presented study offers to the participants.

Note that for the 2023 exam session, the North region achieved a rate of 37.53% at the BEPC and 41.79% at the Baccalaureate.
