The expansion of Russia-Niger cooperation at the center of a telephone conversation between Presidents Abdourahamane Tiani and Vladimir Putin

_: The President of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Fatherland, Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani, Head of State and the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin discussed, during of a telephone conversation , early in the morning of this Tuesday, March 26, 2024, of the expansion of multisectoral and global strategic cooperation between the two countries, reports the Press service of the presidency of Niger. During the meeting which focused on issues of national and international interest, the two personalities offered each other condolences following in particular the terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall as well as thanks for the support provided to Niger by the Russian Federation in its struggle for sovereignty. Also, the Nigerien and Russian leaders spoke of the need to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries to face current threats. Abdourahamane Tiani and Vladimir Putin discussed a project for multi-sectoral and global strategic cooperation benefic ial to both countries. In Niamey, the interview took place in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Transition of Niger, Mr. Lamine Zeine Ali Mahamane; the Minister of State in charge of National Defense, Lieutenant General Salifou Mody, the Minister of State in charge of the Interior, Brigadier General Mohamed Toumba; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bakary Yaou Sanagaré and the Chief of Staff of the Head of State, Dr. Soumana Boubacar.
