The Goethe Institut launches a project for the promotion of oral cultures in Burkina

The cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, Goethe-Institut, intends to launch next Friday, a project called "Räume für oral Kultur", or "spaces for oral cultures" ( ECHO) which aims to promote oral cultures in Burkina Faso.

The "Spaces for oral cultures" project aims "a multimedia exhibition that combines analogy, digital technology and whose architecture is built on oral cultures collected from several ethnocultural communities in Burkina Faso", informs the press release sent to the AIB.

With the aim of transmitting values and traditions so that they endure in a changing world, the Goethe-Institut has initiated with its Burkinabè partners (Association Art en Intersection and the Georges QUEDRAOGO Music Museum) and Germans (University of Gottingen), the ECHO project.

The official launch of the “Räume für oral Kultur” project, or “spaces for oral cultures” (ECHO), will take place on June 9, in Ouagadougou at the Goethe-Institut at 8 p.m.

With 158 Goethe-Instituts in almost 100 countries, the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany is active worldwide. Together with their collaborators, it helps to connect people in a comprehensive and lasting way in a living cultural and educational network.
