Ouagadougou: The Provincial Directorate in charge of National Education of Kadiogo resumed on February 7, 2024 in Komsilga, with its sporting and cultural activities, after 15 years of suspension.The new provincial Director of National Education, Literacy and the promotion of national languages of Kadiogo, Alexandre Yaméogo, believes that sport and culture are essential aspects of the integral development and socialization of the child.This is why, as soon as he took office in September 2023, he said he brought together his closest collaborators to talk about the relaunch of sporting and cultural activities, interrupted since 2008 in the Kadiogo province.The least we can say is that these consultations quickly bore fruit because on the afternoon of Wednesday February 7, 2024, the actors met in the commune of Komsilga for the relaunch of these activities.This launching ceremony of sporting and cultural activities was enhanced by the presence of the Regional Director of National Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages of the Adjarata Sawadogo Center and the presence of administrative and customary authorities.Parade of basic education districts, ballet, recital, artistic performances, speeches and gala match were the highlights of these meetings, centered on the theme: ''Sport and culture in primary schools in times of war: the expression of resilient youth.According to Alexandre Yaméogo, the security crisis should not constitute a handicap to the socialization and integration of students, because it is from very small minds that a strong, united and combative Nation will be born.'We must continue to live, despite adversity. It is through our activities of living together and the promotion of our individual and collective cultures that we will prove to the enemy that Burkina Faso remains one and indivisible,' recalled the Provincial Director in charge of National Education of Kadiogo. .Mr. Yaméogo then urged the children to discipline, love for others, fair play and respect the i nstructions during the three months to come for the mixing and sharing of cultural values.The first vice-president of the special Komsilga delegation, El Hadj Boukary Ilboudo, thanked the authorities for the choice of his commune to host the provincial event.He reassured of Komsilga's commitment to defending the cause of education and sporting and cultural activities.The gala match pitted the Komsilga B team against that of Goby.After a first half marked by few chances, the Komsilga team, galvanized by its public, opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the second half.But that was without counting on Goby who fought until the last second of the allotted time, to snatch the equalizer.'For a first attempt, it was a masterstroke. I take my hat off to all the members of the organizing committee for having successfully completed this beautiful opening ceremony,' rejoiced Director Alexandre Yaméogo.The partners' representative, Augustin Sakandé, says he has seen talented children who just need a lit tle coaching to express themselves better.He asked parents to let their children participate in sporting and cultural activities because according to him, experience has shown that children who take part in these activities most often have better academic results.Source: Burkina Information Agency
