The Sahel DREPPNF Reviews Achievements and Sets 2025 Agenda

Dori: The Regional Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DREPPNF) of the Sahel convened its first management council of the year from July 23 to 24, 2025 in Dori. Chaired by Regional Director Elhadji Boubacar, this meeting aimed to review the past year's activities and outline the 2025 action plan amidst the prevailing security challenges in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, despite ongoing security issues, DREPPNF managed to conduct educational and administrative activities across the four provinces of Oudalan, S©no, Soum, and Yagha. Technical teams successfully prepared administrative documents and processed assignment and competitive examination files. The Regional Director commended the educational stakeholders for their resilience in maintaining the operation of the school system despite the prevailing constraints.

A significant achievement discussed at the council was the successful administration of the Primary School Certificate (CEP) exam. For the 2025 session, 3,288 out of 3,405 registered candidates took the exams, with 2,836 students passing, resulting in a success rate of 86.25%. This marked a 2.76-point increase from the 83.49% success rate in 2024. These results highlight the collaborative efforts of teachers, educational supervisors, and administrative managers.

Beyond exams, the council noted that educational support activities were implemented throughout the school year. Literacy centers received consistent monitoring, and various cultural and sports activities organized by the CEBs contributed to students' well-being and development. These initiatives are vital in fostering a connection to education in a region often affected by forced displacement and insecurity.

The meeting also provided a platform to scrutinize the DREPPNF's action plan and program of activities for 2025. The focus will be on consolidating past achievements, enhancing educational monitoring, and expanding educational access in the region. Regional Director Elhadji Boubacar called on stakeholders to maintain their dedication, innovate, and unite in the face of future challenges.

Participants concluded the two-day session with a commitment to sustain the current progress. In a region beset by insecurity, the accomplishments serve as a beacon of hope, underscoring the ambition to make education a cornerstone of resilience and sustainable development in the Sahel.
