Tourism promotion: Journalist Nida Ouédraogo invites Burkina to follow in China’s footsteps

Journalist Nida Ouédraogo at AIB on Thursday urged the Burkinabè authorities to follow in China's footsteps in terms of tourism development, with a view to creating jobs for young people. . Journalist Nida Ouédraogo at the Burkina Faso Information Agency (AIB) stayed from April 8 to 24, 2024, in the People's Republic of China, as part of a training seminar on the economic, cultural and tourism development of the country . During his stay, he visited, among others, the Great Wall of China, Orange Island, the Temple of Heaven museums and the China Cinema Museum. In view of the different sites, Mr. Ouédraogo invited the authorities to follow in the footsteps of the second largest economic power in the world (China) to promote Burkinabè tourism. The AIB reporter also explained that this development of tourist sites will create many jobs for young people. 'We must make our cultural and tourist sites attractive with a view to encouraging many national and foreign visitors to frequent them,' he hoped. Accordin g to him, China remains a textbook case in terms of tourism and cultural development for Burkina Faso. Mr. Ouédraogo pointed out that the country is full of various sites such as the Banfora Waterfalls, the Sindou peaks, the ruins of Loropéni, the sacred caiman pond of Sabou, but remain little visited. Although insecurity is a factor to take into account, the journalist indicated that the promotion of these recreational sites remains a necessity for the national economy.
