Tunindex sheds 0.4% at close of Tuesday’s session

The market continues its downturn, as the benchmark index concluded Tuesday's session with a 0.4% decline at 8,483.8 points, in a modest trading volume of TND 2.3 million, as reported by broker Tunisie Valeurs. Electrostar shares delivered the best performance of the session. The appliance specialist's stock saw a 3.1% increase to TND 0.330, albeit in a meagre trading volume of a thousand dinars. SOMOCER shares closed the session in positive territory. The ceramic tile specialist's stock showed an improvement of 1.3% at TND 0.760. As one of the most dynamic stocks on the board, SOMOCER attracted capital totalling TND 118,000 during the session. SOTIPAPIER shares found themselves at the bottom of the Tunindex. The Kraft and Testliner paper producer's stock declined by 4.6% to TND 4.720. The stock generated trading activity worth TND 82,000 during the session. STAR shares were among the biggest losers of the session. The stock of the number one insurance company in Tunisia suffered from a profit-taking move ment. The value ultimately closed the session with a 4.5% dip at TND 152.800. The stock was traded to the tune of TND 109,000 during the session. The insurer had a commendable performance on the stock market in 2023, accumulating a remarkable surge of 18.8%. Attijari Bank shares topped the volume rankings. The subsidiary of the Attijari Wafa Bank Group fuelled the market with trading totalling TND 342,000. The stock of the private bank closed the session on a sombre note, bending by 1.5% to TND 43.840.
