Tunisia, Japan seek to forge stronger ties as FMs meet in Cairo

Minister of Foreign affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar and Japan's Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi agreed to prepare effectively for upcoming joint events and foster mutual support in international organisations. This was as they met Monday in Cairo during a working session on the sidelines of the third edition of the Arab-Japanese Political Dialogue at the ministerial level. The two officials said they take pride in the long-standing friendship ties and expressed the shared will to take them to the next level. Emphasis was placed on Tunisia's commitment to the tenets of its foreign policy which rest, the ministry said in a press release, on the principles laid down in the UN charter and the provisions of international law. Tunisia advocates international relations premised on human solidarity, in a bid to consolidate international peace and security. Nabil Ammar urged the Japanese FM to keep on supporting the Palestinian cause, in full abidance with international law. Yoshimasa Hayashi said his country will keep on supporting Tunisia and eyes stronger cooperation in all areas. Items on the agenda of this third ministerial meeting were also discussed.
